Sometimes, the best love stories come with a second chance. In Love, Rekindled, fiery passion meets lost love as couples reunite to rewrite their endings. Whether they’ve been torn apart by time, circumstance, or heartbreak, these characters will discover that love is never truly lost—only waiting for a spark.

For our new trope collection releases, we thought we’d do a little something different with our author Q&A section and give you a glimpse into the writers personal trope faves! (And occasionally a peek at their writing spaces and pets!). We hope you enjoy!

Alexandra Ivy (SLAYED BY DARKNESS):

What is your favorite thing about (the trope you’ve been included in)?

I absolutely adore stories that involve a second chance at love. Not the stories where two people have spent their time apart dwelling and brooding on what they’ve lost. But the ones where fate or a fluke drove them apart, and now they’ve reconnected in a way that is far more meaningful.

At the very soul of a second-chance love story, Is the promise that we can make mistakes and still find happiness. After all, life shouldn’t be lived in a straight line from point A to point B, right? It’s adventures and side quests and learning by doing. It’s a big messy explosion of experiences that include falling in love a dozen times before you realize what truly makes you happy.

And just because you found the right person, doesn’t mean it’s the right time. You might meet Prince Charming, but you’re still enjoying your days as Cinderella. Nothing wrong with that. There’s no deadline on finding love.

So live big, take up space, and hold on to the knowledge that if one door closes, you can open it again when you’re ready 😉

Viva la second chance at love!

What trope would I love to write?

I’ve always longed to write a big, beefy Sword and Sorcery fantasy. One of those epic battles between good and evil that takes the reader to a world filled with magic and mysterious prophecies. I grew up on the Hobbit and moved straight into the Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones. It will happen one day. Each year I add to my secret notebook filled with characters and storylines and themes. Until then I indulge my love for fantasy with witches and vampires and creatures that go bump in the night!

Sawyer Bennett (RAFE):

What is your favorite thing about (the trope you’ve been included in)?

I love writing second chance romance and out of a hundred-plus books, it’s probably the trope I write the most. I’m crazy for any type of redemption story and there’s nothing better than love being redeemed. I particularly like having complex backstories to set up the second chance which expands my creativity.

What trope have you not written yet but want to?

I think I’ve actually written every trope that I’d like to write in!!!!

Tessa Bailey (ROUGH RHYTHM):

What is your favorite thing about (the trope you’ve been included in)?

My favorite thing about second chance romance are the built in experiences between the characters. They’ve already shared moments that made them who they are when we meet them and those shared memories bring so much tension, love and occasionally pain to the table.

What trope have you not written yet but want to?

The only trope I haven’t written about is amnesia and I’m not counting it out! I have an idea for an amnesia story, I’m just waiting for the right moment to unleash it.
