Oh, how I loved Olivia and Derek! How did you choose them for this novella?

Oh yay! That makes me so happy. As for Derek and Olivia…well it was about time, wasn’t it? Derek has been in the Montgomery Ink series at least in the background since the first book, Delicate Ink. I wrote 8 novels and 9 other novellas in the series and was like, okay fine, Derek, you can get your HEA. LOL He helped so many others, it was time to let him find his peace. Olivia was a new character…though not new to him. Inked Nights is the last Montgomery Ink romance set in Denver. (I say last, but you know me, right?) After Derek and Olivia, I’m staying in Colorado Springs for a bit for those Montgomerys before moving up to Boulder for those Montgomerys in 2019. But Derek and Olivia needed their HEA first.

I also love their names. How do you pick your character’s names?

I do love their names. Derek was a name I came up with quickly because I needed a side character that sounded sexy but I wouldn’t write their book. I mean, how many times have our author friends said “So I named this character Bob, but now he needs a book. Why did I go with Bob?” (Sorry to all the Bobs out there! Tee hee). As for Olivia, I wanted a name for a sweet woman that could also sound sexy when a big, bearded alpha growls it. And you know Derek growls it. Often.

Who would you dream cast for these two?

So you totally mentioned she looked like Meghan Markle (sp?) and now I can’t get her out of my head. I know she’s not acting anymore because she married my prince…uh…I mean she married her prince, but maybe she’ll come back to acting as a favor to me. Because I’m amazing. LOL

As for Derek? Bearded Chris Evans as he was in Snowpiercer. Give me growl. Give that glare. Give me that marshmallow insides. That’s who I want.

And now I’ll just imagine the two of them in Inked Nights and sigh happily.

The item to your left is the only tool you have to defend yourself from a zombie hoard. What is it?

Sundae, my polydactyl tuxedo 1 year old kitten. She has thumbs, you guys. Together we’ll take over the world. I think we’ll make it.

Can you give us a hint as to what you’re working on next?

I’m currently working on Whiskey Undone (Whiskey and Lies Book 3). This is a friend-to-lovers-what-are-we-doing romance with a little murder and a whole lot of whiskey. I’m having fun LOL.

Biography:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.
