Midnight Untamed

(A Midnight Breed Novella)

by Lara Adrian

The mission was supposed to be simple. Infiltrate an enemy’s stronghold outside Rome and eliminate its leader. For a Breed warrior as lethal as Ettore Selvaggio, AKA “Savage”, stealth assassinations are only one of his many cold-hearted specialties. But the last thing Savage expects to find behind enemy lines—in his target’s bed—is a woman he once adored.

It’s been years since Savage last saw beautiful Arabella Genova. Years he’s strived to banish to his past, along with the fierce desire he once felt toward Bella . . . and the irresistible calling of her blood that stirs in him even now, despite the fact that she belongs to another male.

But when fate throws Savage and Bella together again in a race for their lives, will his long-lost love prove to be the one woman he can’t live without, or the perfect weapon to destroy him?

An Exclusive Interview With Lara Adrian:

~ with Jillian Stein of Read Love Blog

I loved Midnight Untamed and Savage and Arabella’s story! The rekindling of a lost love was phenomenal.  How did you choose them for this novella?

I’m so glad you enjoyed MIDNIGHT UNTAMED! I had a great time writing Savage and Arabella’s story. Each of my novellas in the 1001 Dark Nights collection has featured a member of the Order’s command center in Rome, but I was really excited about writing Savage’s story with Bella because it’s a reunion romance (one of my favorite tropes) and it’s also an action-packed road romance (another of my favorites). I hope readers enjoy the ride!

You sure knew your car stuff in this story!  Did you have to a lot of research to get the details just right? (and if you could drive one for the day, which would you choose?)

LOL! The car stuff is all Savage, not me. 😉 All I know about fancy sports cars is that I enjoy looking at them and riding in them. I had to rely on Google for the other details. As for which one I’d choose? I have to go with the one Savage picked – the Pagani Huayra. It’s badass and sexy – hmm, sounds like Savage!

In this novella we met a dark and mysterious character, Scythe, and I can already tell he has one heck of a heartbreaking past.  Will he be getting his own story? (I’m already dying to read it lol!)

Ahh…Scythe! Yes, of course, I cannot let a tempting, emotionally haunted Gen One Breed like him get away without a story. He also opens up all kinds of potential for a Midnight Breed spinoff series that I’ll be working on soon. You heard it here first! 🙂

If you could spend a day with one of your characters, who would it be?

Oooh, so hard to choose! I’d love to hang out with some of the Breedmates at the Order’s DC headquarters so I could be around lots of the warriors at the same time.

How would you spend the day?

Hanging out with the girls, hopefully eating a meal with them since they always have great food and conversation. And then I’d try to finagle a ride-along with some of the warriors on night patrols. That way I’d get the full Order experience! 🙂

Ok, so for 2016 I am going to be playing Mad Libs with the 1,001 Dark Nights authors for a bit of fun! Here is Lara Adrian’s Mad Libs titled “Car of the Year”:

It’s here, the all-new Matthew: the most luxurious dagger you’ll ever drive! It’s the only four-door ice cream that comes equipped with dual air chickens, power stilettos, and contoured, plush leather books.  And, believe it or not, it is the only car in its class that can go up to a hundred thousand witches without needed a chocolate syrup change or a rainbow tune-up.  Run, do not slither, to your nearest Matthew dealer and feast your toes on the car that Motor Fork magazine calls the magnificent gorilla of the year.  As always, we save the best for last:  When you see the sticker price, you’ll be sure to shout, “GADZOOKS!”
