Can you tell us why or how you chose to write about this couple for your novella?
Honestly, it felt just like it was meant to be—destined, even. <- see what I did there? Okay, all kidding aside, it was part of a bonus Christmas scene I wrote about Hadley Arrowood falling for Cayden Arrowood. I knew the ending, but I had so many asking about how they got there. I also had this deep desire to unpack their relationship.
Do you do anything to treat yourself when you finish writing a book?
I watch Life Below Zero for about 4 days straight. No joke. I’m a total couch potato.
What one piece of advice would you give an aspiring writer?
Tune out the noise. There is always going to be someone giving advice about what you should do that contradicts someone else’s. What I’ve learned is that no matter what, it always comes back to the book. Write the best book, invest in your craft, the story, take feedback well, and work hard to have the book be its best.
What’s the worst thing you’ve eaten out of politeness?
This is a terrible question! But, my mother’s Thanksgiving meal. My mother is good at many things, cooking is not one.
