Take the Bride
(A Knight Brothers Novella)
by Carly Phillips
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carly Phillips comes a new story in her Knight Brothers series…
She used to be his. Now she’s about to marry another man.
Will he let her go…or will he stand up and take the bride?
Ryder Hammond and Sierra Knight were high school sweethearts. Despite him being her brother’s best friend, their relationship burned hot and fast…and ended with heartbreak and regrets.
Years later, she’s at the altar, about to marry another man.
He’s only there for closure, to finally put the past behind him.
But when the preacher asks if anyone has a reason the couple shouldn’t wed, she turns around and her gaze locks on his.
Suddenly he’s out of his seat.
Objecting.
Claiming.
And ultimately stealing the very pissed off bride and taking her to a secluded cabin.
He wants one week to convince her they’re meant to be, to remind her of the fiery passion still burning between them.
When their time together is up, will she walk away and break his heart this time, or will he finally have the woman he’s wanted all along?

Oh how I loved this story! How did you choose Ryder and Sierra for this novella?
Thank you! I’m so excited for this book to release. I was just waiting for the right story to use for my book that is based on Elton John’s song Kiss the Bride but with a happy ending…because of course he has to object! Sierra is the sister of my Knight brothers (Take Me Again, Take Me Down and Dare Me Tonight) and she needed her own story!
Ok, being from the Poconos, I’m dying to know how you came about picking this location for their getaway…
Haha! I was at a writing/plotting retreat with friends and we were discussing where Ryder could take Sierra to get her away from it all…Ryder was leaving the city and where would he go? Somehow in all the laughter and fun of the discussion the Poconos came up…and the story flowed from there.
I’m a huge sucker for second chance romances. What are some of your fave tropes to write?
When I look back at my books I tend to do second chance/first love, friends to lovers and I like some version of insta-love.
Who would you choose to play Ryder and Sierra in a movie?
Can I leave this to readers to tell me? I never envision people as my characters. I sort of let them take on a life of their own.
Can you give us a hint as to what you’re working on now?
Oooh! I just finished Dare Me Tonight, the last book in The Knight Brothers series and a crossover with my Dare to Love series. Readers who have read the Dares are going to get a full on reunion with all their favorites and if you haven’t read it, that’s okay. You’re still good to read Dare Me Tonight. I’m working on the next series and I am dying to reveal who’s story is next but…it’ll be an announcement of sorts so I have to just tease. Readers will love it!
