(A Stage Dive Novella)

by Kylie Scott

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kylie Scott comes a new story in her Stage Dive series…

When the Stage Dive crew decides to help, they do it in a big way.

Nanny and housekeeper Jude has been going through a dry patch. Getting ready to dip her toes back into the dating pool is a little nerve racking. And the offers of assistance from her boss, David Ferris, and his band are not helping. Right up until music producer Dean Jennings arrives to work on the band’s latest album.

But Dean is more than a little wary of dating anyone with anything to do with the Stage Dive crew after losing Lena to lead singer Jimmy Ferris all those years ago. Can Jude a) Convince the crew to stay out of her business and b) Woo the man of her dreams?

An Exclusive Interview with Kylie Scott

~ with Jillian Stein of Read Love Blog

Can you tell us why or how you chose to write about this couple for your novella?

Dean got the short stick in LEAD. I always felt a little bad for him. He was a genuinely great guy, but Lena was already in love with Jimmy. So giving him a happy ever after was great.

Do you do anything to treat yourself when you finish writing a book?

I usually buy myself something as a treat. This time it was a (I’ll warn you this is a little weird.) antique taxidermized crow named Professor Crow. He sits in my office with me as my muse and is a great listener. He also lends serious presence to my Halloween decorations.

What one piece of advice would you give an aspiring writer?

If you want it badly enough then you won’t stop. You won’t stop reading and writing and learning and growing. And that’s what you need to be a writer.

If you could dream cast (actors, models, singers… anyone really!) the hero and heroine, who would you choose?

A young Rachel Evan Wood for Jude and Milo Ventimiglia.

What’s your cure for hiccups?

Take a deep breath and hold it for as long as you possibly can. Then focus on breathing deep and evenly for a minute or two. It’s like trying to reset your breathing.
